Heartbreak, Intro
SEPTEMBER-NOVEMBER 2008
Heartbreak is an inevitable feeling everyone goes through, I saw mine coming well before it happened. Emiliano was acting rather strange ever since I visited Scotland for two weeks and wanted to hang out with me less and other girls more. It was exactly one week before our senior year in high school started and he ended our nearly three year relationship over a series of text messages which he claimed to be the only way he could do it; otherwise, he wouldn’t be able to go through with the deed. Although Emil broke my heart, as I did his, he remained one of my best friends and helped me through many of the tough and good times to follow. Almost all the boys I fell for after Emiliano were the complete opposite of him thus, beginning what my friends would later call my “play-wrecking” stage.
The first two guys were around the same time, although I liked the second more than, the first at this point in time. The first, Blake, was blonde haired, blue eyed and fair skinned. He had a sense of simplicity about him which attracted my all too complicated self. Everyone who knew the both of us thought we would be cute together so, I entertained the thought for some time before concluding that I like the other boy more. Deep down however, I had a strange feeling that at some point Blake and I would end up together. Aristos was a light skinned twenty year old with light eyes and a funny and bright personality, his voice alone could make me smile. Unfortunately, Aristos was quite unavailable. Or so I thought.
It was a November afternoon at work which entailed having to walk through movie theatres to make sure they were running properly. Aristos had gone home early and returned with a few friends to watch Max Paine. Theatre Two was one of the larger movie theatres and had two walkways on either side of the seating area leading up to the screen, the right hallway much less traveled by movie-goers. While going about my walk throughs, I received a text message from Aristos saying I should come to Theatre Two and meet up with him. I walked across the bottom of the movie screen, flash light on, and proceeded to walk up the stairs to the right side of the theatre where Aristos was waiting further down in the walkway…
